The body of the hammer is slightly softer, which absorbs some of the vibration caused when the hammer strikes another object. Our Clipping Hammers are perfectly balanced. By balanced, we mean, they are the same weight on the pien side as on the flat side. This is what keeps the hammer from wanting to twist in your hand.
