Itll sit neatly on any ceiling or wall. Its easiest (but not essential) to mount it on a surface with a void behind it, like plasterboard (this is where the small terminal box and cable can be tucked away). If theres no void, the cables long enough to hide the terminal box further away you just cant make the connections in the base. Weve designed it with a ball joint that smoothly
