The easel is composed of two walrus Ivory tusks with scrimshaw figures on them which are made rigid by two metal braces. Attached to the upper brace is an 8 " long rounded walrus ivory foot in a metal collar which allows the foot to extend back or fold flat for storage. Scrimshawed on one tusk is a polar bear head and a salmon, and on the other is a brown bear head and a whale. On the front of each tusk is " round walrus ivory peg
